Finding a dependable stance requires more than selecting a famous hitter and playing one game. MLB The Show 26 Stubs do not replace the need for a controlled comparison, so each animation should be judged by pitch visibility, timing feedback, PCI movement, and performance against different pitch types.
Phase One: Establish a Baseline
Enter Custom Practice with the current camera, difficulty, and hitting interface. Face a pitcher with a delivery you can read clearly and begin with the stance already assigned to the Ballplayer. This provides a baseline for every later comparison.
Watch the release point and note whether the stance creates distracting hand movement, blocks part of the pitcher, or begins its stride too early for your preferred rhythm. Do not change anything during the first sequence.

Phase Two: Compare Three Visual Styles
Test one animation with a pronounced timing cue, one compact stance, and one controlled left-handed setup. Ohtani, Trout, and either Soto or Seager create a useful first comparison. Alvarez can replace one candidate when the visual goal is a traditional power-hitter presentation.
◆ A large leg kick feels helpful: Keep Ohtani in the final test.
◆ Pre-pitch movement becomes distracting: Continue with Trout, Soto, or Seager.
◆ A power build needs a matching presentation: Add Alvarez to the comparison.
◆ Both batter's boxes feel different: Test Polanco, Rutschman, Jones, or Mondesi.

Phase Three: Run the Pitch Test
1. Face 15 fastballs in the upper half.
2. Face 15 fastballs in the lower half.
3. Mix fastballs and changeups from similar tunnels.
4. Add sliders from both pitcher handedness groups.
5. Finish with a randomized sequence.
6. Record early, late, and PCI-placement misses.
A useful stance should remain readable when pitch speed and movement change. An animation that works only when the pitch type is known in advance needs another test before it is used in competitive games.

Phase Four: Respond to the Miss Pattern
Condition: PCI placement is accurate but fastballs are late
Begin tracking earlier or test a stance with less visible movement. Keep the camera unchanged so the animation remains the only variable.
Condition: Off-speed pitches create constant early swings
Watch several pitches without swinging and stop using the hitter's stride as the only timing signal. The release point and early ball flight should remain the primary information.
Condition: The setup works offline but fails online
Practice at the difficulty and pitch speeds closest to the competitive mode. The stance may be comfortable while the current practice environment is too slow to prepare for online velocity.

Phase Five: Finalize the Build
Once the animation is settled, MLB 26 Stubs can be assigned to Diamond Dynasty hitters whose contact splits, power, speed, handedness, and defensive value complement the same playstyle. The stance remains a visual customization choice rather than a direct statistical upgrade.Repeat the full test after a major camera or interface change, but keep the final stance for several games before deciding whether another adjustment is necessary.
